Become a Volunteer Today

Step 1: Sign up for one of our weekly virtual volunteer orientations—all are listed on the Volunteer Calendar.

Step 2: Attend your orientation, learn about volunteering at Solutions for Change and ask any questions you have.

Step 3: Review and sign your volunteer application and policies forms.

Step 4: Sign up for your first volunteer event on the Volunteer Calendar or on the "Provide and Serve Dinner" tab!

While our ongoing needs are essential for the everyday operations of Solutions for Change, please do not feel limited to our list. We want to encourage you to use your creativity and passion in your service. Please contact our team with any ideas you have for how you can contribute.


We appreciate all donations but with limited storage, we can’t always accept large donation items.  Please contact Corine at (760) 941-6545 or cblackmore@solutionsforchange.org  for any donation related questions.

Donation Needs

Donations are accepted on Monday of each week between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. If there is a large item that needs to be picked up, please send photos of the item to Corine at cblackmore@solutionsforchange.org. Once an item is approved to be picked up, you will be added to our pick-up calendar. All large item donations are scheduled for Friday pick-up.  

We accept gently used or new  clothing that will give people a sense of pride to wear. If you would not give an item to your friend, please do not donate it. You may also donate directly from our Amazon Wishlist.

Clean and good quality clothing (no stains, holes, or pilling) 

Infant & Toddler 0-5 years

Children and Teens 6-18 years 

Woman’s Casual and Professional 

Men’s Casual and Professional 

Clothing items with positive uplifting messages 

New underwear 

New or like new socks  

Shoes that are in good condition  

Unopened basic personal hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. 

Accessories in good condition such as purses, jewelry, hats, scarves, hair accessories 

Twin and queen bed sheets

Pillows

Blankets and comforters

Silverware

Plates, bowls, cups, pots, pans

Toilet paper

Multipurpose cleaner

Disinfecting spray

Empty spray bottles

Accordion napkins and paper towels

Lysol and Febreze

Clorox/disinfecting wipes

Gloves (M, L, XL)

Trash bags (13 gallon and 50 gallon)

Baby items: shampoo, thermometers, body lotion, rash cream, bottles

Diapers (size 5&6), pull-ups (2t & 3t) and wipes

Feminine products (tampons and pads)

Deodorant

First aid kits

Microfiber rags

Bleach

Laundry detergent pods

Cereal

Boxed macaroni and cheese

Items We Do NOT Accept 

Clothing with holes, stains, rips, broken zippers, missing buttons, pilling, etc. 

Clothing that smells like cigarette smoke 

Clothing with derogatory language or promoting sex, alcohol, or drugs   

Worn out, damaged or dirty shoes, purses or accessories 

Outdated clothing, lingerie or swimsuits 

Used socks or underwear
