From Surviving to Healing: Marcy's Story

When Marcy arrived at Solutions for Change, she wasn't just experiencing homelessness—she was carrying the weight of trauma, addiction, and the overwhelming responsibility of raising two young children while simply trying to survive.

For seven months, she lived in a tent while pregnant, never knowing where her family would sleep next. Fear, uncertainty, and shame defined each day.

Everything changed when she entered Solutions Academy.

Rather than offering a temporary fix, Solutions for Change provided the structure, accountability, and community that helped Marcy rebuild her life from the inside out. She learned healthy coping skills, established routines, embraced personal responsibility, and began healing from years of trauma.

More than a year into the program, Marcy is more present for her children, rebuilding relationships with her family, and pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. Most importantly, she has replaced fear with hope and survival with purpose.
